Lemnos Releases New ROOT Clocks

Though the ROOT may often be the least noticed, with time it can become one of the most iconic.  That may have been the core concept behind Lemnos’ new ROOT wall clocks designed by the famed Japanese designer Yuichi Nara.  Made with Alder or Beech wood frame handcrafted in Toyama Japan by craftsmen, the ROOT features 2 shapes, one round and one square, with 2 wood variations.

Just like a watch will always subtly reveal the aura of a person, so does the clock for a home or office.  It shall never be overlooked.

Twelve typographical numbers that represent a day are arranged in moderate size on the ROOT’s clean, brand-less clock face.  But we know it’s from Lemnos, because of the fine craftsmanship that made this time piece a reality.  Even the hour, minute, and second hands are tastefully designed and chosen: Nara used “Kabura” style (turnip-headed arrow in Japanese) for the hour and minute hands and paired them with a narrow, straight second hand.

Lemnos ROOT shall witness stories that happen in time as a key decor in your home or office, yet silently sweeping without any disturbance to you, the living.  Just like the ROOT of anything, this clock will provide the most basic need in life — time telling.  But the Lemnos ROOT will give you more.  It will give you a sense of calmness and peace, and a combination of Japanese heritage craftsmanship and design — the center piece for the quintessential quality life.

Lemnos ROOT uses Seiko Japan’s quiet sweeping movement and has a US MSRP of $180.  ROOT by Lemnos is Made in Japan.
